Job interviews are among the toughest parts of getting your dream job but you can help yourself in acing that interview by also learning some job interview tips and questions beforehand and learning how to answer them. - Prepare to tell your potential employer who you are. One of the common things that will be asked from you during interviews is ‘Tell me about yourself’. If you are not quite prepared to face this question, you might be thinking of starting to tell something about your personal life and your family. However, it is important that you focus less on your date of birth and what is your family like, but focus on your work experiences and highlight your achievements. Make it a good opportunity to emphasize some highlights in your career that you have not put in your resume.

- Know your strengths and weaknesses. Another common question that often comes out in job interviews is the question on what are your strengths and weaknesses. If you do not want to be caught off-guard with this seemingly simple question, it is important that you also have to prepare for this beforehand and learn how to answer this question smartly.

- Avoid things that might turn off your potential employer. One of the job interview tips and questions that you have to keep in mind when preparing for a job interview is to avoid certain things that can turn off your potential employer. Among the things that you have to avoid are name dropping and making up stories just to make you appear impressive. Name dropping can be a real turn off and making up stories would do you no good even if you will get hired. Keep in mind that companies also do background check and you may be put to shame if you are not telling the truth. Also avoid answering questions that was not asked from you. This may mean you are not listening or you are poor at it.

- Don’t give too much information to the point of uncovering some of the facts that might later put your application in jeopardy. Talking too much may also be a harm in your application so try to answer questions straight and do not give too much information that is not asked from you.

- Don’t badmouth your former employer. This will for sure, turn off your potential employer. If you have left the previous company because of some disagreements, then it is better to keep that to yourself. Speaking negatively of your former boss will surely speak poorly of you.
