The Top Job Interview Tips

If you’re looking for some quick, simple, easy to follow job interview tips, then look no further. There are a variety of details that you should attend to before, during, and after an interview.

Attention to small details, like the tips that will soon be explained, will demonstrate to your possible employer that you see and can attend to the whole picture. Not to mention these job techniques help remove any possible distractions that could act as an unnecessary turn-off to your interviewer.

You should start off by figuring out where the interview is and budgeting your time accordingly. Plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes beforehand. Be sure to research the office security so you don’t waste time or energy getting into the building. Getting all of these little travel arrangements under control will ensure that you’ll get to your interview on time and relaxed.

You also need to think about how you’re going to physically present yourself, as shallow as that may seem. When in doubt, dress in formalwear. Your hair, regardless of its length and your gender, should be out of your face. If you are planning to wear make-up, perfume, or cologne, less is more; you don’t want to overwhelm or distract your interviewer with any part of your physical presentation. Make sure that every part of you (nails, hair, clothing, etc.) is clean and ‘under control’.

Also be aware of your body language throughout the interview. Don’t fidget, touch your hair or face, or tap your fingers. It’s sometimes hard to be aware of nervous habits, which is why you need to do practice interviews with your friends and family or a job counselor. In general, make sure that your body language is confident and professional – eye contact, upright posture, and a firm handshake are all great.

If you’re looking for more interview tips, tough questions and answers, or preparation, you should check out the new eBook, Job Interview Results. Prior to the creation of this book, a group of researchers polled hundreds of people, asking what interview questions they find most daunting. The researchers then collaborated with a recruiter from Google and Microsoft. The result is a book full of the most commonly asked job interview questions, complete with an explanation of why they’re asked, and why the right answer can be instrumental in securing the job. The book also includes tons of job interview tips, techniques, and etiquette you should follow. After reading the Job Interview Results eBook, listening to the MP3′s and using the Job Interview Results Workbook, you’ll be able to end the challenges associated job interviews.
